The May Budget Revision will be one of the most consequential in many years. There is no doubt the state will face significant revenue loss related to the COVID-19 crisis. With school districts and county offices working hard to continue to provide students and families with educational services, meals, child care, etc., it will be important to ensure that LEAs continue to receive at least the funds budgeted for the current year. For the 2020-21 budget year, our advocacy efforts will need to be stronger than ever if we hope to receive sufficient resources to provide our students the programs and services they need as we compensate for disruptions and (hopefully) transition to more typical school year.
